Auto Mover Australia ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what personal information we collect through automovers.au, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What we collect
When you request a quote, make a booking, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, pickup and delivery locations, and vehicle details. We also collect standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) to keep the site secure and improve it.
2. Collection of partial form data and real-time tracking
Our website uses real-time technologies to capture data entered into our online quote calculator fields (including but not limited to names, email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle specifications, and transit locations). This data may be collected asynchronously as you type, even if you do not complete the form or click the final submit button.
We collect this partial information under the framework of Australian Privacy Principle 3 (APP 3) for the primary purposes of:
- Assisting users who experience technical difficulties or form abandonment.
- Following up via email, SMS, or telephone to offer assistance with car transport logistics, routing inquiries, or quote finalisation.
- Analysing website functionality, form friction points, and user experience to improve our digital services.
If you have entered data into our forms and do not wish to receive follow-up communications, you retain the absolute right to opt out at any time. Every automated email contains an "Unsubscribe" link, and all SMS communications can be stopped by replying with the word "STOP".
3. How we use your information
We use your information to provide quotes and transport services, process bookings and payments, send service notifications (booking confirmations, driver updates, invoices), respond to enquiries, and — where you have started but not finished a quote — follow up to offer assistance as described above.
4. Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers needed to deliver our services (e.g. payment processing via B2Bpay/Zenith Payments, SMS delivery providers) and where required by law.
5. Storage and security
Your information is stored on secure servers located in Australia-friendly jurisdictions with access restricted to authorised staff. Payment card details are handled exclusively by our PCI-compliant payment provider and never touch our servers.
6. Access, correction and deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or permanent deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting our privacy officer at office@automovers.au or on 1300 599 515. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs, contact us first and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
